It is indicated for respiratory tract infections, biliary tract infections, peritonitis, urinary tract infections, uterine and adnexal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and postoperative prophylaxis against infections. This medication can penetrate inflamed cerebrospinal fluid in large quantities, treating purulent meningitis.
